Unskippable anime openings

I know a lot of you classmates watch anime. So why don't we talk about anime openings! And I also wanna babble a bit about these animes which's openings I went with for this post. There would have been so so many more I would've liked to incorporate to this, but I would never finish this post if I did that. 


Yuri!!! on Ice 

Ok so where to start... Such a sweet story and I'm still just waiting for more. This opening song just somehow fits the series so well, if they end up making more I hope they don't change it. Also the whole visual style with the opening is just so beautiful. What had me amazed from the beginning was that how well they have animated the skating. And I still am very much amazed. Also, as a former synchronized skater I get a certain fuzzy feeling watching people skate animated so smoothly. Pro tip: this song is a lot of fun to play in Beat Saber! Every time I played through it I imagined I myself was skating. Reality was that I was just looking dumb with a huge apparatus strapped to my head.



Demon Slayer 

The name of the anime pretty much says it all what to expect. Art style and animation, especially in action the both combined it's just absolutely stunning. And I can't stop jamming to this opening. 


Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Not really sure if I will ever forget this one. I'd argue almost every anime fan would put this somewhere on their favorite animes of all time lists and probably the opening as well, and I too can't leave it unmentioned. 


Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These

I actually found out about this anime after seeing a video of recommendations what you should watch if you liked Game of Thrones up until to the point it went to shit. Huge space battles? Yes. Lots of scheming and politics? Yes. Interesting characters? Yes. A good story? Yes. Lots of episodes? YES. Or rather, there will be a lot of episodes since it's a remake of the original LotGH that started in the 80s, and that one has 110 episodes in total. This opening is the handiwork of Hiroyuki Sawano, who at this point seems to be a legend when it comes to anime music (thanks for pointing out the legend part, Néd). Seriously, check out his work, fairly sure you've heard it somewhere before.


Vinland Saga

Vikings. A lot of vikings. Also, what an absolute banger of a song. I have actually added this to my gym playlist.



Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

Mandatory Jojo. I could actually put almost every single of its opening here, but no. I forced myself to choose just one, and this is it. I just really, really dig the punk vibe it has. To be honest, I nearly skipped on the series altogether because I was put off by the style, especially in first three parts. Then.. I got a bit too into it. Nowadays I actually love the style of it, it just needed to grow on me. One of my most recent Jojo-related ways to pass the time has been watching Jojo characters dancing to k-pop songs. Also after watching the series, it seems to suddenly be EVERYWHERE. And everything is a Jojo reference.

    Funny how I already (and love) the FMAB opening, an absolute classical!

    I'd say my favorite one is Vinland Saga's one, what a banger. Also surprised to see it's made by Survive Said The Prophet, that I knew through... FF7 xD

    I love this song as my most favourite anime OP so far, but I don't like the whole song, just this anime cut edition.

    SAO's endings are also some nice ballad twist to this very heavy metal openings. :D

    Sis, you posess an inexplicably good taste in everything in general, that's an objecive truth. When I was younger I used to sit in front of my computer for hours only watching different openings of anime, and these are some that I could just sit and watch over and over again. Can't believe I didn't realize the galactic heroes one is by Sawamoto, it's so incredible! It was so cute what you wrote about yuri on ice, although now I'm just imagining you skating with that thing on your head. Still cute tho
    (PS I'm also happy someone is mentioning Vinland Saga even though I've only read the manga)

    OH my god!! Absolutely love the Yuri on ice opening, it's so nostalgic and always makes me feel good! The only other anime in this list I've watched is Jojo which is also a classic, but maybe I should check out the other ones too, especially because most of them are already on my to-watch list! They seem already so good based on the openings alone.

Final Task Part II: My own Vtuber

For the practical part of the project, as I stated in the previous post I'd take on the challenge of creating my own Vtuber, with an unique look and interests. I took note that quite many of the popular Vtubers were demi-human and had some sort of a theme going on with their look. That certainly makes them more memorable. The English speaking Vtubers I mentioned in my research post, all have a theme. There's a shark-girl, Gawr Gura who's a descendant of the Lost City of Atlantis, the Grim Reaper's first apprentice Mori Calliope, a detective called Watson Amelia, a lovecraftian-themed Ninomae Ina'nis with huge tentacles and a phoenix called Takanashi Kiara who loves fried chicken. After giving it some thought what theme and demi-human aspect I'd go with, I set on making her a pilot and making her part lynx. So, time to look for some inspiration and reference images!
